Frequently Asked Questions About Ozone Therapy

The entire procedure is conducted at our North Wales, PA center. It starts with a blood draw, followed by the infusion of ozone (O3) into the blood, which is then reintroduced into your body. This treatment provides numerous benefits, including boosted energy, enhanced immune support, and overall improved well-being. Ozone therapy also facilitates better oxygen utilization, diminishes inflammation, and helps in enhancing circulation and managing pain. The process is safe, efficient, and tailored to meet your specific health needs, ensuring you receive the maximum benefits from each session.

Yes! Ozone therapy is considered safe as it involves introducing ozone (O3), a naturally occurring form of oxygen, into the blood. This procedure, commonly performed through autohemotherapy, enriches the blood with ozone before reinfusing it back into the body. The goal is to enhance oxygenation and stimulate the immune response, aiding in detoxification and combating various pathogens.

However, it is crucial to consult with a healthcare professional before starting ozone therapy. Your physician can assess whether this treatment is suitable for your specific health needs and conditions. They can also provide guidance on how ozone therapy might interact with any existing treatments or health issues you have, ensuring a safe and effective personalized health regimen.

However, like any medical treatment, it is essential to consult with a healthcare professional before beginning ozone therapy. The ozone infusion process takes about 30-45 minutes in our Houston center. Please allow for about 1 hour for the consult and appointment.

After undergoing ozone therapy, clients often report a variety of positive effects, though the specific outcomes can vary based on the individual’s health status and the reason for treatment. Commonly, individuals may experience an increase in energy and a sense of revitalization, as ozone therapy is thought to improve the efficiency of oxygen utilization by the body. This can lead to enhanced cellular function and overall vitality.

Some people also notice improved immune response, which can manifest as better resilience against infections and quicker recovery times from illnesses. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, ozone therapy might alleviate symptoms associated with chronic inflammatory conditions, leading to reduced pain and swelling.

It’s important to note that while many respond positively to the treatment, some might experience mild side effects such as light-headedness or a mild flu-like feeling immediately following the session. These symptoms are typically temporary and often resolve within a day or two. Always stay hydrated and follow any post-treatment recommendations provided by your healthcare provider to maximize the benefits and minimize potential side effects of ozone therapy.

Insurance is not required for our ozone therapy treatments.

We use ozonated saline regularly in our practice, often as a precursor to MAH (Major Autohemotherapy). It’s particularly effective for patients with very small or fragile veins—those for whom MAH is not a practical option.

It’s also a valuable alternative for individuals who prefer not to have their blood drawn,  including for religious reasons. Additionally, ozonated saline has shown strong results in supporting patients with viral or bacterial infections. We’ve performed many treatments over the past two years with consistently positive outcomes.

In our experience, both treatments are highly effective, but they work in different ways. MAH allows for a much higher concentration of ozone to be administered; however, only the volume  of blood that is drawn from the patient is directly ozonated.

With ozonated saline, we typically use a lower dose of ozone, but because the solution is infused while blood continuously flows past the infusion site, a greater volume of circulating blood is exposed to the ozone.

From a patient perspective, feedback often varies. Those who have experienced both treatments frequently report feeling more physical energy after ozonated saline, while MAH tends to leave them with a greater sense of mental clarity. We don’t have a definitive explanation for this difference, but it’s a consistent observation.

Yes, we do occasionally adjust the ozone concentration based on the patient’s individual response.  In some cases, ozonated saline can cause mild vein irritation. When that occurs, we typically lower the concentration to minimize discomfort while still maintaining therapeutic effectiveness.

One of the primary reasons patients opt for ozonated saline is vein size. Some individuals have veins that are too small or fragile to accommodate the larger needle required for MAH, making ozonated saline a more accessible option.

Currently, the most common reason patients are seeking ozonated saline at our clinic is to address viral infections. Many come through word-of-mouth referrals—from friends, coworkers,  or neighbors—who have experienced significant improvements.

The second most common reason is chronic illness. Patients dealing with persistent conditions such as Lyme disease, Epstein-Barr virus, or mold toxicity often turn to ozonated saline as part of their long-term recovery approach.

Lastly, some individuals choose the treatment proactively, using it to support and strengthen their immune system as a preventative measure.

Yes, we’ve seen positive results when treating patients with post-COVID symptoms using ozonated saline. While we haven’t conducted follow-up blood work on every patient, those who have had post-treatment labs often show signs of improvement.

In addition to lab-based findings, we’ve received consistent subjective feedback from both patients and their family members, noting noticeable improvements in energy, cognitive function, and overall well-being.

Ozonated saline is generally safe for all ages. That said, the concentration and dose would need to be carefully adjusted for younger or smaller patients. As long as a vein can be accessed and the child is able to remain still for the duration of the treatment—typically  around an hour—it could be administered safely.

However, we should note that we have not performed ozonated saline IV treatments on pediatric patients to date.

One key advantage of ozonated saline is that it exposes a greater volume of circulating blood to ozone. In autohemotherapy (MAH), only the withdrawn portion of blood is ozonated before being reintroduced into the body. With ozonated saline, however, the infusion occurs directly into the bloodstream, allowing the ozone to interact with a much larger volume of blood as it circulates past the infusion site.

This broader systemic exposure may contribute to more widespread effects throughout the body,  especially in cases where a full-body immune or oxidative response is desired.
