Chemical Peels in Houston, TX

Professional peels that accelerate cellular turnover to reveal a smoother, more radiant complexion. A customized, non-surgical approach to skin rejuvenation.

What Is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a professional skin resurfacing treatment that uses specialized exfoliating solutions to safely remove the dull, damaged, or aged top layers of your skin. By accelerating the shedding process, the peel stimulates the growth of a fresh, healthy layer of skin underneath and encourages natural collagen production. Unlike over-the-counter exfoliants, professional peels penetrate deeper into the skin to address a variety of common concerns, from hyperpigmentation and acne scars to fine lines and rough texture. The solution works by loosening the bonds between dead skin cells, which slough off over the days following your treatment and trigger your body’s natural healing response. At Relive Health Houston, our aesthetic providers select the peel formulation and strength based on your unique skin type and goals, from light AHA and salicylic peels to medium-depth options such as the VI Peel and BioRePeel.

FAQ

What types of chemical peels do you offer?

We offer light peels (AHA / salicylic acid) for dull skin, mild acne, and uneven texture with little to no downtime; medium peels (TCA / glycolic acid) for sun damage, age spots, moderate acne scarring, and fine lines; the VI Peel; and BioRePeel, a biphasic peel that delivers medium-depth results with minimal peeling and downtime.

The VI Peel is a powerful, medical-grade medium peel that blends TCA, Retinoic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Phenol, and Vitamin C. It is formulated to improve skin tone, texture, and clarity while being safe for all skin types and ethnicities.

Visible peeling varies with the strength of the peel and your skin. Some clients see light flaking, while others have more noticeable peeling that lasts 3 to 7 days. Let the skin shed naturally and avoid picking or pulling at flaking skin.

Most light to medium peels require minimal social downtime. You can typically return to normal activities right away, though you may want to avoid strenuous exercise and excessive heat for the first 24 to 48 hours.

Many clients notice a brighter, smoother complexion after one treatment, but a series is often recommended for optimal, long-lasting results. Depending on your goals, we may suggest 3 to 6 treatments spaced several weeks apart.

A mild tingling, stinging, or warming sensation during application is normal. It is temporary and usually subsides quickly, and our providers take every step to keep you comfortable.

Use a gentle cleanser, a deeply hydrating moisturizer, and daily broad-spectrum SPF. Avoid makeup for the first few days, direct sun exposure, harsh exfoliants, and active ingredients like retinols until your skin has fully recovered.

Many modern peels, including the VI Peel, are designed to be safe and effective for a variety of skin types and tones. Our providers carefully select the right peel to minimize the risk of hyperpigmentation or irritation, particularly for darker complexions.
