Get To Know Dr. Tariq
1. What inspired you to shift your career towards functional medicine? Why do you think longevity care is so important today?
My shift toward functional medicine was driven by a growing sense that conventional care, while excellent at acute intervention, often falls short when it comes to preventing disease and restoring long-term vitality. I repeatedly saw patients cycling through fragmented care—managing symptoms with medications but never truly addressing root cause. I became increasingly interested in a model of medicine that asked deeper questions, integrated lifestyle and metabolic drivers, and empowered patients to take ownership of their health trajectory.
Longevity care is especially important today because we are facing a paradox: people are living longer, but not necessarily healthier. Chronic disease, burnout, metabolic dysfunction, and cognitive decline are affecting patients at younger ages, while the healthcare system remains largely reactive. Longevity medicine reframes the goal—not just simply extending lifespan, but extending the quality of health. It focuses on preserving energy, cognition, mobility, and purpose across decades, not just treating disease once it appears.
2. What is your philosophy on combining aesthetics with longevity and overall wellness?
My philosophy is that aesthetics and wellness should be integrated—not disconnected. Aesthetic treatments don’t only focus on vanity- they are often an entry point into deeper health engagement. When patients feel better about how they look, they are more motivated to invest in how they feel and function over the long term. From a clinical standpoint, healthy aging is visible. Skin quality, muscle tone, energy, and posture are downstream reflections of metabolic health, hormonal balance, inflammation control, and lifestyle habits. When aesthetics is paired with evidence-based longevity care, treatments become more natural, sustainable, and aligned with whole-body health rather than short-term cosmetic fixes.
3. What excites you most about joining Relive Health? What priorities or standards do you hope to elevate across the Relive network?
What excites me most about joining is the strength of the vision that Relive has already built around proactive, personalized longevity care. Their brand successfully brings innovative, patient-centered medicine to a broad audience, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to contribute to that continued growth. As Chief Medical Officer, my focus would be on reinforcing high clinical standards, safety, and evidence-based care while supporting the entrepreneurial spirit that defines Relive Health. I also look forward to helping elevate how longevity and wellness medicine are practiced: grounded in science, delivered ethically, and aligned with long-term patient outcomes.
4. What innovations in hormone health, peptides, or preventative medicine do you believe will impact patients most in the next decade?
In the next decade, preventative medicine will be increasingly shaped by deeper diagnostics, smarter personalization, and more precise interventions. Improved testing methodologies, better understanding of tissue-level hormone and peptide effects, and more individualized dosing and delivery systems will all further optimize patient outcomes. We will see greater integration of lifestyle medicine, targeted supplementation, and therapeutics into patient-specific treatment plans.
5. What does an exceptional patient experience look like to you?
To me, exceptional patient experience is holistic, personalized, and empowering. It starts with truly listening to each patient’s goals and concerns, then translating clinical expertise into clear, actionable guidance they can trust. It’s about creating a seamless, welcoming environment where every touchpoint—appointments, treatments, follow-up—is consistent and thoughtful. Beyond the logistics, it’s the sense that patients are partners in their care, supported in making choices that improve both their immediate well-being and long-term health. Ultimately, exceptional experience leaves patients feeling confident, valued, and inspired to invest in their own wellness journey.
6. Are there any specific protocols or procedures you consider true game-changers based on outcomes you’ve witnessed or experienced yourself?
Yes, there are several protocols I consider game-changers because of the outcomes I’ve observed in my patients. Comprehensive hormone optimization programs, when tailored to individual metabolic, endocrine, and lifestyle profiles, consistently improve energy, cognition, body composition, and overall well-being. I’ve also seen targeted peptide therapies—particularly those supporting metabolic function, recovery, and immune resilience—produce measurable improvements when integrated responsibly with nutrition and lifestyle interventions.
7. What brings you joy or keeps you grounded?
Spending high-quality time with my inner circle of friends and family keeps me grounded for sure. Hobby-wise, it’s a tie between Pilates and spending time on the water (jet skiing, paddle boarding, cruising on a boat- anything). All of these provide me a sense of calm and allow me to recharge mentally and physically.
8. What’s one surprising fact about you that most people wouldn’t guess?
I was a competitive skier growing up.
